Our brand new Raleigh, NC store is set to open up its doors on Friday, May 28, so for today’s Employee Profile we are highlighting the new Raleigh store manager, Hugo.  Featuring our brand new layout and design, this store will be easy to shop but, of course, will still be full of all the great brands and value that you expect from Performance.  Our Grand Opening celebration will start the weekend of Friday, June 4th, but come on by to check out the store starting this Friday and say hello to Hugo and his team.

When did you start with Performance?

2007.

How did you get started in cycling ?

I raced mountain bikes in high school for Cannondale.

How long have you been cycling ?

20 years.

What’s your favorite type of riding?

I enjoy both mountain and road biking.  I love everything from singletrack mountain biking to century road bike rides.

Any racing experience?

Yes, I’ve raced both mountain bike (sport class) and on the road (ex-Cat. 2).

What’s your favorite aspect of working in a bicycle store?

I like meeting new people and making their cycling experience better, all while working in an industry I love.

Dream place to ride?

Moab.

Any cycling goals? Something you are working toward?

I want to race in the expert mountain class; I’m currently training towards riding in longer, endurance mountain races.

Any hobbies outside of cyling?

I like snowboarding, running, and weight lifting.

None right now.
