What Do You Carry When You Ride?

Ever wonder what cyclists carry in their pockets, saddlebags, and hydration packs? We polled some folks around the office, asking to see what they carried to get out of a jam, and found some interesting stuff.

Which kind of begs the question: what do you carry when you ride?

And don’t forget that tubes, multitools, mini-pumps, Co2 cartridges, black size medium Giro Air Attack Shield helmets, and saddlebags make great stocking stuffers.

  1. Thanks for the info, very interesting. I am curious why the Ultimate Trail Building Kit has a road tube. What kind of ultimate trails are accessed by a road bike?

  2. I carry a multitool, spare tubes, inflator, tire irons, & bandages and a spare arm warmer in my seat bag. (The arm warmer does a great job protecting road rash on the calves. I know this from sad experience.)

  3. Since its winterish, and I commute weekdays and take long rambles on the weekend, I have rain gear, extra gloves, socks, a tube, patch kit, pump, multi tool, tire levers, and a tiny first aid kit.

  4. Having mechanic skills I always feel i need to carry so much stuff. and i go days on end not using anything. and the 1 day i ride with out anything is the day i pass a cute girl with a messed up chain or flat. and later in the day my stem or handlebars come loose.
